Girl Scouts are a special kind of superhero because we love to help others and give back to the community. But all that saving the world can really take its toll if we don’t make sure to take care of ourselves, too.
To celebrate National Nutrition Month, here are some fun activities that will help us maintain our superhero strength and be the best we can be!
Go on a healthy food scavenger hunt with your troop at your local grocery store
Grow your own vegetable garden! Not only will it encourage you to make more home-cooked meals, we hear that tomatoes, peppers and squash are perfect for our Texas weather.
Have you ever wondered where your food comes from? Take a trip around the world to learn about their origin.
Get your blood pumping with fun exercises
Love pizza? Create your favorite and add a healthy twist!
What could possibly happen when you make these small changes?
- Your mood will improve. Healthy foods (fish, nuts, grain etc.) have a big impact on your brain
- You’ll have more energy to do the things you love
- You’re less likely to get sick. As you get older, your body will thank you and pay you back in longevity.
The best way to promote healthy living is to be a shining example to others. How will you spread the word?
