Thanksgiving is always such a fun time of year for Girl Scouts because it’s a feeling that we have for our supporters year-round. There’s just no way we’d be where we are without the help of parents, volunteers, donors, Girl Scouts and staff. It’s because of wonderful people like you that we’re able to provide amazing opportunities for girls across northeast Texas. So what do we have to be thankful for this year?
Who can forget the IcePocalypse of the 2015 Girl Scout Cookie season? Dallas was hit with an out-of-this world winter storm that most certainly affected cookie deliveries. Thankfully, Girl Scouts and volunteers stayed positive and after lots of snow days, got the cookie selling back up and running!
Making sure our girls have a WOW-worthy camping experience despite record rainfall
Receiving a $200,000 grant from Microsoft that will help provide new technology for the STEM Center of Excellence
Experiencing another amazing Kickoff full of great trainings and a memorable guest speaker, Amy Lynch.
Officially breaking ground at the STEM Center of Excellence (The welcome center opens next month!)
Watching our very own Elise Clements see all of her hard work pay off the moment Beulah Harriss’s state marker was finally revealed in Denton
Being inspired by such amazing women during this year’s Women of Distinction Luncheon
Sometimes it’s hard to answer the age-old question, ‘What are you thankful for this year?’. But we do have a lot to be thankful for.
And as it turns out, all of the efforts made by our supporters will provide us with everything we’ll ever need to be thankful for, so long as we’re in the business of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.
We are so glad to be a part of your family. Happy Thanksgiving!
