The holidays are here which can only mean one thing: let’s give back! Now in its 12th year, Share the Warmth is back with a big heart and a new beneficiary, Dallas CASA!
CASA was founded in Seattle nearly 40 years ago and three years after that, Dallas CASA was founded. So what’s this organization all about? They help ‘advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children, helping them gain safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible. According to their website, over 770 volunteers serve more than 2,260 children annually in Dallas county. Thanks to the CASA organization, thousands of children have found safe and loving homes.
These children have experience things that no one should go through, and right now they need to feel cherished and secure. The good news is there’s something we can do about it. From now until November 30, Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas and Sleep Experts have partnered together to organize a blanket drive better known as Share the Warmth. You can donate gently used comfort items like blankets, pillows and bed sheets by dropping them off at area Sleep Experts locations.
Last year we donated over 4,000 comfort items to those in need and this year, we can make that same impact on Dallas CASA and ensure that these children have the holiday experience they deserve. How will you Share the Warmth this year?
