We have something exciting planned for social media and we want you to be a part of it! Girls, parents, alumni and volunteers are encouraged to participate in the #GirlScoutsTaughtMe social media craze leading up to the Women of Distinction Luncheon! Here’s how it works:
1. Using your cell phone, create a short and engaging video where you describe what Girl Scouts has taught you
2. At the end of the video, give a shout out to a friend to create their own video about what Girl Scouts has taught them (it can be bravery, confidence, helping the community etc.)
3. Upload the video to our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/GSNETX) using the hashtag #GirlScoutsTaughtMe and “tag” the person mentioned in the video
Some examples of what to upload include video of a girl zip lining at camp, a parent filming their Girl Scout working on a project, an alumni on how Girl Scouts shaped their lives today or a volunteer with her troop.
We encourage everyone to use their creativity and blow us away with their amazing videos. We may even surprise you and show up at an event or camp session to get your take on what you’ve learned as a Girl Scout. The challenge starts today; select videos will then be chosen and played at the 2015 Women of Distinction Luncheon on Wednesday, October 14!
We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
