Who say’s the Holidays have to end on New Year’s Day? Around here, they’re just beginning! Girl Scout Cookies are officially ready to be enjoyed by the public once again, and early this morning, dedicated Girl Scouts from all over came out to celebrate the launch of these tasty treats. Joining forces on WFAA’s Party on the Plaza and the Samoa Celebration at DART Union Station, they were more than ready to sound the alarm that DFW has been waiting so long to hear: “Come get your Girl Scout Cookies!”
Before the sun rose, excited (and a little sleepy) cookie bosses filled the WFAA studio where they woke the city up with some sweet news.
Girls showed up with sparkles, signs, tiaras and more……
as WFAA’s morning anchors became the first to taste the Girl Scout Cookie variety.
And without missing a beat, they recited the Girl Scout Promise alongside GSNETX CEO, Jennifer Bartkowski.
But, it was 5 o’clock in the morning…
…thankfully, there was a wonderful DJ who kept the girls’ spirits up and
And over at DART’s Union Station, commuters got more than they expected…a Samoa cookie! This caramel-y goodness drizzled in chocolate and sprinkled with toasted coconut was handed to passengers as they began their work day. What better way to say “Happy Friday” (and Happy Birthday to the iconic cookie) than with a Samoa? You can bet that many people were thrilled to see Girl Scouts out and about delivering cookies and good vibes.
This guy doesn’t realize it yet, but his day’s about to get better!
These girls were putting those “people skills” to the test, and boy were they pros!
Some travelers even stepped off of the train just to grab a sample before getting back on!
I think it’s safe to say that we made the start of a lot of peoples’ weekend that much more exciting!
Devoted Girl Scout Cookie fans can now purchase their favorites through either booth or door-to-door sales NOW. All cookie packages, with the exception of the gluten-free Toffee-tastic, will cost $4; Toffee-tastic costs $5 per package. But these cookies won’t be here for too long. The Girl Scout Cookie Program ends Sunday, March 1!
