Compared to other holidays, there seems to be one that shares the sentiment and structure of the Girl Scouts: Thanksgiving.
Each year, volunteers, parents, Scouts and staff work together to unify Northeast Texas through community service projects, selling the iconic Girl Scout Cookies, educational opportunities and personal growth. When it comes to creating opportunities like these, giving thanks and being giving are the foundation our goals are built on.
With your help, we’ve managed to impact girls all around Northeast Texas by encouraging them to discover what they love, to find their voices and become leaders of tomorrow. This year we have a lot to be thankful for, including:
Sister Scouts showing their support for one another and the 2014 Girl Scout Cookie Program on News 8’s Daybreak, despite getting up before dawn
The grand opening of Camp Bette Perot’s Aquatic Center in Palestine!
Parents who are dedicated to their daughters’ Girl Scout experience
Volunteers working to make our Girls feel like royalty
An exciting Council-Wide Bridging Event
Honoring influential women and dedicated Girl Scouts
Sometimes it’s hard to answer the age-old question, “What are you thankful for this year?”. It’s almost as difficult as answering, “What would you like for your birthday?”. But we do have a lot to be thankful for.
And as it turns out, all of the efforts made by our supporters will provide us with everything we’ll ever need to be thankful for, so long as we’re in the business of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.
We are so glad to be a part of your family; Happy Thanksgiving!
